FUNCTION: Calcium-activated non selective (CAN) cation channel that mediates membrane depolarization. While it is activated by increase in intracellular Ca(2+), it is impermeable to it. Mediates transport of monovalent cations (Na(+) K(+) Cs(+) Li(+)), leading to depolarize the membrane.
