Specificity

Detects CCL24/Eotaxin‑2/MPIF‑2 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Eotaxin-2 is observed, and less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Eotaxin is observed.

Background: CCL24/Eotaxin-2/MPIF-2

Eotaxin 2, also known as CCL24, is a part of a subfamily of the cytokine CC genes which are involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. Eotaxin 2 plays a role inducing chemotaxis in eosinophils when interacting with CCR3. This protein is known to have interactions with CCR3, CCR1, CCR10, CCR2 and CCR4.
