Background: CDC73
CDC73 (also Parafibromin, HRPT2, and C1orf28) is a 60‑65 kDa member of the Cell Division Cycle family of proteins. It is found in adrenal, parathyroid and kidney, and serves as a regulator of Wnt signaling and a tumor suppressor by blocking c-myc expression. Human CDC73 is 531 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains multiple NLSs (aa 125‑139, 76‑92, and 393‑410) and a beta -catenin interaction sequence (aa 218‑263). There are at least two potential splice variants. One shows a five Lys substitution for aa 300‑531, while a second shows a 19 aa substitution for aa 298‑531. Full-length human and mouse CDC73 are completely (100%) identical in primary aa sequence.
