Detection of Human ZNF10 by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of SK-Mel-28 human malignant melanoma cell line, HeLa human cervical epithelial carcinoma cell line, human kidney tissue, and human thymus tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human ZNF10 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB9656) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for ZNF10 at approximately 70 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: ZNF10

Human Zinc finger protein ZNF10 (or KOX1) is a 573 amino acids protein encoded by the ZNF10 gene. ZNF10 contains a C2H2 zinc finger, and has been shown to function as a transcriptional repressor via the Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) domain of the protein. ZNF10 has been shown to interact with the nuclear hub protein TRIM28 to mediate chromatin-dependent processes like transcriptional repression, imprinting or suppression of endogenous retroviruses, representing a potential intrinsic antiretroviral defense.
