INTENDED USE AND DESCRIPTION: For use a quantitative control for the determination of human CCL13/MCP-4 concentrations in biological fluids. Controls are supplied lyophilized. Storage

• Store lyophilized controls at 2-8 °C. Lyophilized controls are stable for up to 12 months from date of receipt.
• Reconstituted controls are stable for up to 6 months from date of preparation when stored at ≤ -70 °C. Storage at -20° C is not recommended.
• Individual frozen aliquots of low and high controls are designed as single-use entities. Thaw directly before use and discard any remaining volume.

Background: CCL13/MCP-4

Human MCP-4, also known as CCL13, encodes a 98 amino acid (aa) precursor protein with a 23 aa hydrophobic signal peptide that is cleaved to yield an 8 kDa, 75 aa mature MCP-4. Mature MCP-4 lacks any potential N-glycosylation sites and shares a pyroglutamate proline motif with other human MCP proteins.
