Cannabinoid R2/CB2 Receptor Ligands

The CB₂ receptor, also known as the peripheral cannabinoid receptor, is a member of the cannabinoid receptor group of G-protein-coupled receptors that also includes CB₁ and GPR55. CB₂ receptors are located primarily in immune cells both within and outside the central nervous system. The function of these receptors includes modulation of cytokine release and immune cell migration. In the brain CB₂ receptors are expressed by microglia, blood vessels and some neurons.
