GPR119 Receptor Agonists Small Molecules and Peptides

GPR119 receptors, also referred to as SNORF25, RUP3, GPCR2 and OSGPR116, are G_αs-protein-coupled receptors with a degree of homology to cannabinoid receptors. They are predominantly expressed in the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract in humans and rodents. Ethanolamides are proposed to be the endogenous ligands for GPR119. Oleoylethanolamide (OEA) is the most potent endogenous GPR119 agonist identified to date, and the compound's effects on feeding are mediated through this receptor.
