Biological Activity

Quorum sensing inhibitor. Inhibits auto-inducing peptide (AIP) signal biosynthesis in MRSA (IC50 = 2.5 μM). Reduces MRSA-induced abcess formation in rats. Exhibits activity against pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria but not commensal bacteria.
