Detection of P2Y11/P2RY11 in HEK293 Human Cell Line Transfected with Human P2Y11/P2RY11 and eGFP by Flow Cytometry. HEK293 human embryonic kidney cell line transfected with either (A) human P2Y11/P2RY11 or (B) irrelevant transfectants and eGFP was stained with Mouse Anti-Human P2Y11/P2RY11 Alexa Fluor® 647‑conjugated Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # FAB9305R). Background: P2Y11/P2RY11
P2RY11 belongs to the family of G protein-coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. P2RY11 is coupled to the stimulation of thephosphoinositide and adenylyl cyclase pathways and behaves as a selective purinoceptor. Naturally occuring read-through transcripts,resulting from intergenic splicing between P2RY11 and an immediately upstream gene (PPAN, encoding peter pan homolog), have been found. Variants in the P2RY11 gene have been associated with narcolepsy.
