Product Description

Hygromycin B is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Active against both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the 30S subunit and inhibiting the ribosomal translocation step of elongation.

    Hygromycin was used as a selection marker for few eukaryotic cells which were engineered with Hygromycin resistant gene. Product works beautifully to inhibit translation and killing non resistant strains giving it desirable specificity.
