KRAS Antibody (OTI2C1)[NBP2-45536]Simple Western� analysis of endogenous protein DCPS from HELA lysates (0.2 mg/mL) using DCPS Mouse Monoclonal Antibody. The virtual lane view (left) shows the target (as indicated) at 1:50 dilution of primary antibody. The corresponding electropherogram view (right) plots chemiluminescence by molecular weight along the capillary at a 1:50 dilution of primary antibody. This experiment was performed under reducing conditions on the Jess� Simple Western instrument from ProteinSimple, a Bio-Techne brand, using the 12�230 kDa Separation Module.

Background: KRAS

KRAS, a Kirsten ras oncogene homolog from the mammalian ras gene family, encodes a protein that is a member of the small GTPase superfamily. A single amino acid substitution is responsible for an activating mutation. The transforming protein that results is implicated in various malignancies, including lung adenocarcinoma, mucinous adenoma, ductal carcinoma of the pancreas and colorectal carcinoma. Alternative splicing leads to variants encoding two isoforms that differ in the C-terminal region.
