Biological ActivityNS 1643 is a human ether-a-go-go related gene (hERG) KV11.1 channel activator (EC50 = 10.5 μM). Exhibits different molecular mechanisms of action at KV11.1 (hERG1) and KV11.2 (hERG2) channels. Displays antiarrhythmic activity in vitro.

NS 1643 was used to understand its potassium channel opening properties. The product performed well under experimental conditions. Dissolving in ethanol is a better option than disssolving in DMSO as opposed to other K.V channel openers.
