Immunoprecipitation: p57 Kip2 Antibody [NBP1-28707] - Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-p57kip2 antibody NBP1-28706 used for IP at 3 ug/mg lysate. p57kip2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-p57kip2 antibody NBP1-28707, which recognizes an upstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated p57kip2, NBP1-28706 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: p57 Kip2

p57kip2 is a tight-binding, strong inhibitor of several G1 cyclin/Cdk complexes and a negative regulator of cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are implicated in sporadic cancers and Beckwith-Wiedemann syndorome, suggesting that this gene is a tumor suppressor candidate.
