Background: PRC1

Protein regulator of cytokinesis 1 (PRC1) is a spindle midzone-associated cyclin-dependent kinase substrate protein, responsible for microtubule binding and bundling. It is a mitotic, Cdk substrate necessary for cell cleavage and plays a role in the correct formation of the spindle midzone.
