Background: Rad9

Rad9 (cell cycle checkpoint control protein RAD9A or hRAD9) is an evolutionarily conserved protein which serves multiple functions for preserving genomic integrity, and besides its role as intra-S/G2 checkpoint, it also implicates in homologous recombination repair, base excision repair and mismatch repair pathways. PRKCD mediated Rad9 phosphorylation is essential for the assembly of 9-1-1 cell-cycle checkpoint response complex which is recruited to DNA lesion upon damage by RFC (RAD17-replication factor C) clamp loader complex. Thereafter, Rad9 acts as sliding clamp platform on DNA for multiple proteins involved in LP-BER (long-patch base excision repair). 9-1-1 complex stimulates DNA polymerase beta activity/stability, and is necessary for the recruitment of RHNO1 to sites of DNA-DSBs that occurs during S phase of cell cycle. Moreover, Rad9 exerts 3'->5' double stranded DNA exonuclease activity, and it transactivate p53 target genes such as p21 and has been shown to induce apoptosis through its interaction with Bcl-2/Bcl-xL.

FAQs for Rad9 Antibody - BSA Free

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: Is there any possibility that Novus would make a ChIP grade antibody? Can you tell me how should I test it, just cross-link and precipitated, then check if there are some DNAs that I am interested?

A: This antibody has not been tested in ChIP. If you are interested in testing the antibody we have an Innovators Reward Program where we reward our customers for analyzing our antibodies in species and applications that are previously untested.
