Activity

Measured by the ability of the immobilized protein to support the adhesion of PMA-stimulated HSB2 human peripheral blood acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells.
When 5 x 104 cells/well are added to rhICAM-3/Fc Chimera coated plates (12.5 µg/mL with 100 µL/well), approximately 40-70% will adhere after PMA stimulation for 1 hour at room temperature.
Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory for each application.

Background: ICAM-3/CD50

Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-3 (ICAM-3, CD50), a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, binds the leukocyte integrins LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and alpha d/ beta 2. ICAM-3 is expressed on leukocytes and epidermal Langerhans cells. It may play an important role in T cell stimulation by Langerhans cells. ICAM-3 has not been identified in the mouse.
