Simple Plex Discovery Control for Human IL-16 Summary

INTENDED USE AND DESCRIPTION: For use a quantitative control for the determination of Discovery human IL-16 concentrations in biological fluids. Controls are supplied lyophilized. Please refer to the lot specific certificate of analysis and Simple Plex Lyophilized Quality Control product insert for additional information.

Storage
• Store lyophilized controls at 2-8 °C. Lyophilized controls are stable for up to 12 months from date of receipt.
• Reconstituted controls are stable for up to 6 months from date of preparation when stored at ≤ -70 °C. Storage at -20° C is not recommended.
• Individual frozen aliquots of low and high controls are designed as single-use entities. Thaw directly before use and discard any remaining volume.

Background: IL-16

Interleukin 16 (IL-16), also named lymphocyte chemoattractant factor (LCF), is a 14-17 kDa single chain non-glycosylated polypeptide that was originally identified as a CD8+ T cell-derived chemoattractant for CD4+ cells. The expression of IL-16 precursor mRNA has been detected in various tissues including spleen, thymus, lymph nodes, peripheral leukocytes, bone marrow and cerebellum. In addition to its chemotactic properties, IL-16 has also been shown to suppress HIV-1 replication in vitro.
