Simple Plex Human alpha-Synuclein Cartridge Summary

Simple Plex assay for the detection of human alpha-Synuclein ( alpha -Synuclein) in cell culture supernatant (CCS), serum, plasma (EDTA/Heparin), and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

*The Sample Volume represented is based on the amount of sample incorporated into the reaction after taking into account the assay's minimum required dilution for a given matrix. Serial dilution may be necessary to achieve some of the final sample volumes represented.

Background: alpha-Synuclein

The synuclein family includes alpha-Synuclein, beta-Synuclein, gamma-Synuclein, and synoretin. These small, highly conserved proteins are localized predominantly in the brain, concentrated in presynaptic nerve terminals. Alpha-Synuclein is normally a soluble protein. Abnormal alpha-synuclein forms filamentous inclusions (Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites) in several neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies, and Alzheimer's disease. Beta-Synuclein and gamma-Synuclein (synoretin) associate with alpha-synuclein and inhibit its aggregation.
