Immunoprecipitation:STIM1 AntibodyNBP3-29388] -Detection of human STIM1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-STIM1 antibody NBP3-29388 used for IP at 6 µg/mg lysate. STIM1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-STIM1., which recognizes a downstream epitope. For blotting immunoprecipitated STIM1, was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: STIM1

Stromal interaction molecule 1 plays a role in mediating Ca(2+) influx following depletion of intracellular Ca(2+) stores. It acts as Ca(2+) sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum via its EF-hand domain. Upon Ca(2+) depletion, it translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it activates the Ca(2+) release-activated Ca(2+) (CRAC) channel subunit.
