Sequence differences within and between species can significantly influence the selectivity and specificity of taste responses.; SUBUNIT: Forms heterodimers with TAS1R3.; SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.; TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed strongly only in fungiform papillae.
