Background: TDP-43/TARDBP

TARDBP, as known as TAR DNA binding protein, was originally identified as a transcriptional repressor that binds to chromosomally integrated TAR DNA and represses HIV-1 transcription. It has also been identified in individuals diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a condition that often mimics ALS and that has been associated with athletes who have experienced multiple concussions and other types of head injury. It has been shown to bind both DNA and RNA and have multiple functions in transcriptional repression, pre-mRNA splicing and translational regulation. Recombinant human TARDBP protein protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli.

FAQs for Recombinant Human TDP-43/TARDBP His Protein

Showing  1 - 2 of 2 FAQs Showing All
  • Q: Can I do the function test using this protein?

A: Unfortunately, we have not yet tested NBP2-22850 for functionality; therefore, we are unable to guarantee its performance in a functional assay.

  • Q: Do you remove endotoxin from your recombinant human TDP-43 (Catalog # NBP2-22850)?

A: We do not prepare this protein for removal of the endotoxin other than the purification that is done standardly.   This protein is made only as a control for PAGE/WESTERN where the endotoxin would not matter rather than as an active protein.   We have not measured activity at all and would not be able to say if the protein has any activity.
