The GPR154 gene codes a neuropeptide S receptor plasma membrane protein as it is part of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family. The protein encoded by the GPR154 gene is active in signaling pathway in several tissues in a paracrine or autocrine fashion through mediation of inhibitory effects on cell growth.
