GSTM3, also known as Glutathione S-transferase Mu 3, is a 225 amino acid that is approx. 27 kDa; is responsible for conjugation of reduced glutathione to an extensive number of exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles, and may be able to regulate uptake and detoxification of both endogenous compounds and xenobiotics at the testis and brain blood barriers.
