Product Specifications
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 154-166 of human cofilin with N-terminal cysteine added, conjugated to maleimide-activated keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). The corresponding immunizing sequence is identical in pig and rat non-muscle cofilin and differs by three amino acids from that of human and chicken muscle cofilin.
Reactivity Notes
Not yet tested in other species.
Localization
Cytoplasmic and Nuclear
Specificity
Detects a band at approximately 19kDa. Reacts with muscle and non-muscle cofilin.
Clonality
Polyclonal
Host
Rabbit
Isotype
IgG
Theoretical MW
19 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Application Notes
This antibody can be used in Western Blot. For WB use whole extracts of human A-431 epidermoid carcinoma, rat PC-12 pheochromocytoma, mouse NIH/3T3, and dog MDCK kidney cells. IF only recommended for indirect staining. Staining of cofilin is inhibited by the immunizing peptide. Also suitable for microarray. Not tested in other applications. *Optimal dilutions should be determined by the end user.

Application: ImmunocytochemistrySample Tested: MDCK canine kidney epithelial cell lineSpecies: CanineVerified Customer | Posted 07/18/2022MDCK cells transfected with GFP-tagged human Cofilin were stained with anti-Cofilin antibody NB100-1900 at 1:1000. Antibody staining showed little correlation with GFP-Cofilin, so the antibody did not appear to be recognizing Cofilin adequately for IF.
