Background: ULBP-3

ULBP-3 is a GPI-linked cell-surface protein that functions as a ligand for human NKG2D. ULBP-1, -2, and -3 are expressed on some tumor cells and have been implicated in immune surveillance of tumors. Unlike ULBP-1 and -2, ULBP-3 does not interact with the CMV glycoprotein UL16.
