Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-CAP-D3 antibody (lot NB100-1573-4) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. CAP-D3 was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot NB100-1573-3). For blotting immunoprecipitated CAP-D3, NB100-1573 was used at 0.2 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 1 second.

Background: NCAPD3

CAP-D3 is a subunit of the heteropentameric condensin II complex. Condensin participates in the condensation of chromosomes during cell division by facilitating positive DNA supercoiling and knotting by topoisomerase I and II, and aids in the proper segregation of sister chromatids. In the condensin II complex CAP-D3 is regulated by protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) and may participate in centromere resolution. Alternate designations of CAP-D3 include condensin-II complex subunit D3, Non-SMC condensin II complex subunit D3, hCAP-D3, CAPD3, hcp-6, hHCP-6, FLJ42888, MGC1046871, and KIAA0056.
