Immunoprecipitation:Aconitase 2 AntibodyNBP3-29659] -Detection of human ACO2 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-ACO2 antibody NBP3-29659 (lot NBP3-29659-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. ACO2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-ACO2.. For blotting immunoprecipitated ACO2, NBP3-29659 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Background: Aconitase 2

Aconitase 2 is encoded by this gene belongs to the aconitase/IPM isomerase family. It is an enzyme that catalyzes the interconversion of citrate to isocitrate via cis-aconitate in the second step of the TCA cycle. This protein is encoded in the nucleus and functions in the mitochondrion. It was found to be one of the mitochondrial matrix proteins that are preferentially degraded by the serine protease 15(PRSS15), also known as Lon protease, after oxidative modification.
