Immunoprecipitation:Adenylosuccinate Lyase AntibodyNBP3-29821] -Detection of human Adenylosuccinate Lyase/ADSL by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Adenylosuccinate Lyase/ADSL antibody NBP3-29821 (lot NBP3-29821-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. Adenylosuccinate Lyase/ADSL was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-Adenylosuccinate Lyase/ADSL antibody BL18708. For blotting immunoprecipitated Adenylosuccinate Lyase/ADSL, NBP3-29821 was used at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: Adenylosuccinate Lyase

Adenylsuccinate lyase is involved in both de novo synthesis of purines and formation of adenosine monophosphate from inosine monophosphate. It catalyzes two reactions in AMP biosynthesis: the removal of a fumarate from succinylaminoimidazole carboxamide (SAICA) ribotide to give aminoimidazole carboxamide ribotide (AICA) and removal of fumarate from adenylosuccinate to give AMP. Adenylosuccinase deficiency results in succinylpurinemic autism, psychomotor retardation, and, in some cases, growth retardation associated with muscle wasting and epilepsy. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
