Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: Anillin Antibody [NB100-1314]

Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: Anillin Antibody [NB100-1314]

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Anillin Antibody [NB100-1314] - Analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed U2OS cells, permeabilized with 0.15% Triton. Primary incubation 1hr (10ug/ml) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2ug/ml), showing nuclear staining. Actin filaments were stained with phalloidin (red). Negative control: Unimmunized goat IgG (10ug/ml) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2ug/ml).

Primary incubation 1hr (10ug/ml) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (1ug/ml). IgG control: Unimmunized goat IgG (black line) followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody.

Applications for Anillin Antibody

Application
Recommended Usage

Immunohistochemistry

3 - 10 ug/ml

Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin

3 - 10 ug/ml

Peptide ELISA

Detection limit 1:64000
Application Notes
WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 75 kDa band in mouse brain lysates after 0.3 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 124 kDa band according to NP_061155.2. The 75 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. IHC-P: Human kidney shows staining of nuclei in some cells of renal tubules.

Background: Anillin

Anillin is an actin-binding protein that can bind septins and is a component of the cytokinetic ring. Anillin is expressed ubiquitously but with variable levels of expression, being highest in the central nervous system. Anillin is overexpressed in diverse common human tumors, but not simply as a consequence of being a proliferation marker. Anillin may have potential as a novel biomarker.

Alternate Names

actin-binding protein anillin, ANILLIN, anillin (Drosophila Scraps homolog), actin binding protein, anillin, actin binding protein, anillin, actin binding protein (scraps homolog, Drosophila), DKFZp779A055, Drosophila Scraps homolog, scra, Scraps
