Chemical Name: 2-(2-Pyridinyl)-4H-1,3-benzothiazin-4-one
Biological ActivityBTZO 1 binds macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF; Kd = 68.6 nM) and activates antioxidant response element (ARE)-mediated gene expression. BTZO 1 suppresses oxidative stress-induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis in vitro and is cardioprotective.
External Portal InformationChemicalprobes.org and the Chemical Probes webpages of the Structural Genomics Consortium are portals that offer independent guidance on the selection and/or application of small molecules for research.
