Background: Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor

Tissue factor, also known as F3 or CD142, is a cell surface glycoprotein. This factor enables cells to initiate the blood coagulation cascades, and it functions as the high-affinity receptor for the coagulation factor VII. The resulting complex provides a catalytic event that is responsible for initiation of the coagulation protease cascades by specific limited proteolysis. Unlike the other cofactors of these protease cascades, which circulate as nonfunctional precursors, this factor is a potent initiator that is fully functional when expressed on cell surfaces. There are 3 distinct domains of this factor: extracellular, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic. This protein is the only one in the coagulation pathway for which a congenital deficiency has not been described. Recombinant human F3 protein, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

FAQs for Recombinant Human Coagulation Factor III/Tissue Factor His Protein

Showing  1 - 2 of 2 FAQs Showing All
  • Q: Have you tested any of your anti-tissue factor antibodies against pig? I need one for western blot.

A: Unfortunately, none of our Tissue Factor antibodies have yet been tested with pig samples, so we cannot guarantee that any of them will work in pig. Here is a link to Tissue Factor antibodies that have been validated for use in Western blot. If you are interested in testing any of these antibodies against pig samples, you could become eligible for our Innovator's Reward program.

  • Q: What is the endotoxin level of your recombinant human coagulation factor III/tissue factor protein (NBP2-22785)?

A: In regards to your inquiry about the endotoxin level of our recombinant human coagulation factor III/tissue factor protein (NBP2-22785), there is no exact value been provided. However, our protein products are within our regular cutoff for the reagent which is <1.0 EU per 1 microgram (determined by LAL method).
