WB: Full length recombinant human DCDC2 expressed in COS7 (Lane A), non-transfectant COS7 (lane B). Approx. 52 kDa band observed (calculated MW of 52.8 kDa band according to NP_057440.1), provided by Wang and LoTurco, University of Connecticut, USA. An anonymous customer has reported positive results on mouse brain tissue. IHC-P: Human cerebral cortex shows cytoplasm staining in select neurons. Anonymous customers have reported positive results in on rat retinal tissue and rat dorsal root ganglion.

The DCDC2 protein has two doublecortin peptide domains. This domain has been demonstrated to bind tubulin and enhance microtubule polymerization. Mutations in the gene encoding DCDC2 have been associated with Reading Disability (RD), also referred to as developmental dyslexia.
