Immunoprecipitation:Drebrin 1 AntibodyNBP3-29101] -Detection of human Drebrin by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-Drebrin antibody (NBP3-29101 lot 1) used for IP at 1 µg per reaction. Drebrin was also immunoprecipitated by a second.inst a different epitope of Drebrin. For blotting immunoprecipitated Drebrin, NBP3-29101 was used at 0.04 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.

Background: Drebrin 1

Drebrins are actin-binding proteins, that are developmentally regulated in the process of neuronal growth. Three isoforms, E1 and E2 (embryonic) and A (adult) are generated by alternative RNA splicing from a single debrin gene in the chicken brain. The expression pattern of each isoform is regulated spatially and temporally in the developing brain. It has been suggested that debrin is one of the intracellular regulators of the neuronal morphogenesis (4). Debrin has also been detected in other kinds of non-neuronal human and bovine tissue but its exact role is unknown.
