Product Description

Evans Blue tetrasodium salt is a potent inhibitor of L-glutamate uptake into synaptic vesicles. Also inhibits AMPA and kainate receptor-mediated currents (IC50 values are 220 and 150 nM respectively). P2X-selective purinoceptor antagonist. Also a non-permeating dye, stains damaged plasma membrane and enters in the cytoplasm and nucleus, used for checking cell viability.

    Evans Blue was dissolved in DDW to a final concentration of 1% (w/v). 1 ul of %Evan blue was microinjected to mouse brain at a speed of 0.1 ul/min. Brains was fixed in 4% PFA, dehydrated in 30% and 10% succrose and dissected.
    Evans Blue was used to mark the site of injection while optimizing microinjection of mouse brains.
