Background: Histone Deacetylase 2/HDAC2

HDAC2 belongs to the histone deacetylase family that act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes and are responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal region of the core histones. It forms transcriptional repressor complexes by associating with many different proteins, including YY1, a mammalian zinc-finger transcription factor. It also plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Recombinant human HDAC2 protein was expressed with c-terminal His-tag in high-5 cells using baculovirus expression system and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

FAQs for Recombinant Human Histone Deacetylase 2/HDAC2 His Protein

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: Does HDAC2 protein have deacetylase activity? Which substrate did you use?

A: NBP1-72399 was developed and has only been validated for use in SDS-PAGE. We have not evaluated the functional activity of this protein, and it's possible that it may not possess biological activity at all and we cannot guarantee it. It is suitable for use as a positive control in western blotting and potentially ELISA.
