Detection of Human Angiopoietin‑like Protein 2/ANGPTL2 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of human heart tissue, human aorta tissue, and human uterus tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Human Angiopoietin‑like Protein 2/ANGPTL2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF2084) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF017). A specific band was detected for Angiopoietin‑like Protein 2/ANGPTL2 at approximately 55-64 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Angiopoietin-like Protein 2/ANGPTL2
ANGPTL2, also known as angiopoietin-related protein 2 (ARP2), contains an N-terminal coiled-coil domain and a C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain, which are structurally conserved in angiopoietins. Unlike angiopoietins which are ligands for TIE2, ANGPTL2 is an orphan ligand that does not bind TIE2.
