Background: Latrophilin 3/LPHN3

Latrophilin-3 (LPHN3) is a 7-TM adhesion GPCR with a large N-terminal extracellular region. It is expressed in the brain cortex and binds to FLRT1, 2, and 3 and Tenurin 1. Its binding in trans to post-synaptic FLRT3 at glutamatergic synapses supports the maintenance of excitatory synapses as well as the amplitude of glutamatergic transmission. Polymorphisms of Latrophilin-3 are associated with susceptibility to attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
