IgG (Rat) ELISA Kit is a highly sensitive two-site enzyme-linked immunoassay for the quantitative determination of IgG in rat biological samples.

  • Anti-Rat IgG ELISA Micro Plate: Twelve removable eight (8) well strips in well holder frame. Each well is coated with affinity purified anti-Rat IgG.
  • Chromogen-Substrate Solution: One vial containing 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and hydrogen peroxide in citric acid buffer at pH 3.3.
  • Diluent Concentrate (Running buffer): One bottle containing 5X concentrated diluent running buffer
  • Enzyme-Antibody Conjugate 100X: One vial containing affinity purified anti- Rat IgG antibody conjugated with horseradish peroxidase in a stabilizing buffer.
  • Rat IgG Calibrator: One vial containing a lyophilized Rat IgG calibrator.
  • Stop Solution: One vial containing 0.3 M sulfuric acid. WARNING: Avoid contact with skin.
  • Wash Solution Concentrate: One bottle containing 20X concentrated wash solution.

Background: IgG

IgG is a monomeric immunoglobulin, built of two heavy chains gamma and two light chains. Each molecule has two antigen binding sites. This is the most abundant immunoglobulin and is approximately equally distributed in blood and in tissue liquids, constituting 75% of serum immunoglobulins in humans. This is the only isotype that can pass through the human placenta, thereby providing protection to the fetus in its first weeks of life before its own immune system has developed. It can bind to many kinds of pathogens, for example viruses, bacteria, and fungi, and protects the body against them by complement activation (classic pathway), opsonization for phagocytosis and neutralisation of their toxins. There are 4 subclasses: IgG1 (66%), IgG2 (23%), IgG3 (7%) and IgG4 (4%).
