Leupaxin (N-terminal) synthetic peptide (coupled to KLH) corresponding to amino acid residues in the N-terminal region of human leupaxin. This peptide sequence is highly conserved in rat and mouse leupaxin, and has low homology to other paxillin family proteins. [UniProt# O60711]

The antibody detects a 45 kDa proteins corresponding to the apparent molecular mass of leupaxin on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human A431 epithelial cells, human PC3 prostate cells, and rat A7r5 smooth muscle cells.

Background: Leupaxin

The product encoded by this gene is preferentially expressed in hematopoietic cells and is most homologous to the focal adhesion protein, paxillin. It may function in cell type-specific signaling by associating with PYK2, a member of focal adhesion kinase family. As a substrate for a tyrosine kinase in lymphoid cells, this protein may also function in, and be regulated by tyrosine kinase activity. [provided by RefSeq]
