(A) NBP3-48405 does bind to PC3 cells that weakly express MICA(B) A clear peak shift of NBP3-48405 was seen compared to the control when incubated with MICA-expressing Hela cells, indicating strong binding of NBP3-48405 to MICA. Antibodies were incubated at 10 ug/mL.

Background: MICA

MICA encodes the higly polymorphic MHC (HLA) class I chain-related gene A. The protein product is expressed on the cell surface, although unlike canonical class I molecules does not seem to associate with beta-2-microglobulin. It is thought that MICA functions as a stress-induced antigen that is broadly recognized by intestinal epithelial gamma delta T cells.
