Immunoprecipitation:NBR1 AntibodyNBP3-30062] -Detection of human NBR1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NBR1 antibody NBP3-30062 (lot NBP3-30062-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. NBR1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-NBR1 antibody. For blotting immunoprecipitated NBR1, NBP3-30062 was used at 1 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 minutes.

Background: NBR1

NBR1 is encoded by this gene was originally identified as an ovarian tumor antigen monitored in ovarian cancer. The encoded protein contains a B-box/coiled coil motif, which is present in many genes with transformation potential, but the function of this protein is unknown. This gene is located on a region of chromosome 17q21.1 that is in close proximity to tumor suppressor gene BRCA1. Three alternatively spliced variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
