This gene encodes a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase containing a single intracellular catalytic domain with a characteristic signature motif. The gene product, which has a transmembrane domain, is an integral membrane protein. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants, some of which encode different isoforms of the protein, have been described. These variants exhibit tissue-specific expression.   • Q: I am interested in your PTPRO (3F4) antibody. I would like to learn if it also suitable for detecting the endogeous protein. I do knockdown of PTPRO in several cell lines and I want to see the reduction in protein level by western blot. I urgently need an antibody which can detect endogenous protein.

    A: The lab has informed me that this antibody has not been tested against the endogenous protein. I am very sorry I could not provide more useful information!
