Background: RPL18

RPL18, also known as Ribosomal Protein L18, is a component of the large 60S subunit of ribosomes. RPL18 is 188 amino acids in length and is approximately 21kDa. Current research on RPL18 has shown a possible link with breast cancer, malaria, Treacher Collins syndrome and Fanconi anemia. RPL18 has also been shown to interact with HIST1H4A, HIST1H4B, HIST1H4C, HIST1H4D and HIST1H4E.
