Background: SC35

SC35 is involved in pre-mRNA splicing and is found in the bodies in the nucleus referred to as speckles, SC 35 domains or splicing factor compartments (SFCs). The SC-35 clone is frequently used as a marker for these bodies, the role of which is controversial. Speckles correspond largely if not entirely to ultrastructures termed interchromatin granule clusters (IGCs). SC35 is excluded from the nucleolus.

FAQs for SC35 Antibody - BSA Free

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: You do get 2 bands with this antibody - can you tell me which one is the correct one? I assume it is the top band, but do you know, what the protein in the bottom band is? We are interested in Co-Ip and are hence looking at high specificity in an SC-35 antibody.

A: SC35 has a predicted molecular weight of 25kDa, however, most of the antibodies detect bands in the range of 25-35kDa. In our QC data, this antibody (SC35 # NBP1-79886) was tested in HeLa Cell Lysate and showed two strong bands at 25 kDa and the other at 35 kDa range. Regarding your particular interest, SC35 antibody # NBP1-79886 has not been tested for Co-IP application. In fact, we have another antibody (SC-35 # NB100-1774) that we recommend for IP application and this antibody has Human specificity also.
