Precision
Intra-Assay Precision (Precision within an assay) Each control was tested multiple times in one GFAP assay.
Inter-Assay Precision (Precision between assays) Replicates of each GFAP control were tested in multiple assays performed by at least three technicians using two lots of reagents for human GFAP.

Recovery for Simple Plex Ultra-Sensitive Human GFAP Assay
Recovery for the human GFAP assays was evaluated at three different spiked concentrations of GFAP protein.
| Sample Type | Average % Recovery | Range % |
|---|---|---|
| EDTA Plasma (n=5) | 82 | 68-98 |
| Heparin Plasma (n=4) | 99 | 73-112 |
| Serum (n=5) | 79 | 66-98 |
Linearity
Samples containing and/or spiked with high concentrations of GFAP were serially diluted with Sample Diluent to produce samples within the dynamic range of the assay.

Simple Plex Ultra-Sensitive Human GFAP Assay Standard Curve
Data shown represents typical performance results for Lower Limit of Quantitation (LLOQ) and Upper Limit of Quantitation (ULOQ) for Simple Plex Ultra-Sensitive Human GFAP Assay. Assay range is 0.62-5908 pg/mL.Simple Plex Ultra-Sensitive Human GFAP Assay Endogenous Levels
Functional LOD and functional LLOQ are calculated as the LOD and LLOQ of the assay multiplied by the minimum required dilution (MRD) for the sample type.Preparation and Storage

Background: GFAP
Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) is a type III intermediate filament protein. GFAP is the predominant component of astrocyte intermediate filaments in the central nervous system and is often used as an astrocytic marker. It has also been detected in the glial cells of the enteric nervous system and some Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system.
