Immunoprecipitation:Talin1 AntibodyNBP3-29023] -Detection of human TLN1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from 293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-TLN1 antibody NBP3-29023 (lot NBP3-29023-1) used for IP at 6 µg per reaction. TLN1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-TLN1.. For blotting immunoprecipitated TLN1, NBP3-29023 was used at 0.4 µg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Background: Talin1

Talin 1 encodes a cytoskeletal protein which is concentrated in areas of cell-substratum and cell-cell contacts. This protein plays a significant role in the assembly of actin filaments and in spreading and migration of various cell types, including fibroblasts and osteoclasts. It codistributes with integrins in the cell surface membrane in order to assist in the attachment of adherent cells to extracellular matrices and of lymphocytes to other cells. The N-terminus of this protein contains elements for localization to cell-extracellular matrix junctions. The C-terminus contains binding sites for proteins such as beta-1-integrin, actin, and vinculin.
