Background: THADA

THADA is a gene that codes for a protein that is expressed in many organs including the pancreas, thyroid, and testis, and has five isoforms, with lengths of 1953, 1632, 1897, 674, and 937 amino acids and weights of approximately 220, 183, 211, 76, and 105 kDa respectively. Current research is being done on several diseases and disorders related to this gene including adenoma, thyroiditis, polycystic ovary syndrome, cleft lip/palate, diabetes mellitus, Crohn's disease, prostate cancer, obesity, and prostatitis. THADA has also been shown to have interactions with PRKAA1 and UBC.
