WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 100 kDa band in human brain (cerebellum) lysates after 0.2 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 64.7 kDa band according to NP_001073899.1 The 100 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Background: TOX3

The protein encoded by the TOX3 gene contains an HMG-box, indicating that it may be involved in bending and unwinding of DNA and alteration of chromatin structure. The C-terminus of the encoded protein is glutamine-rich due to CAG repeats in the coding sequence. A minor allele of this gene has been implicated in an elevated risk of breast cancer. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
