Dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs) constitute a large heterogeneous subgroup of the type I cysteine-basedprotein-tyrosine phosphatase superfamily. DUSPs are characterized by their ability to dephosphorylate both tyrosineand serine/threonine residues.
