iNOS Inhibitors

Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), along with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) and endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), catalyze the generation of nitric oxide and L-citrulline from L-arginine and molecular oxygen. It displays high affinity for Ca²⁺/calmodulin, thus appears to be constitutively active. Tetrahydrobiopterin, flavin adenine dinucleotide, flavin mononucleotide and NADPH co-factors are required for catalytic activity.
